ATCO was the only lawnmower company to manufacture a car - in 1939 the ATCO Safety First Trainer Car was launched. It was designed to change British motoring history and uphold the Road Safety Traffic Act, it was planned for an ATCO car to be placed in every school in the country to teach young people how to drive, repair and service a car before they took to the roads.

However it was bad timing as ATCO only managed to produce around 200 before the outbreak of WW2 happened. Many have survived demonstrating the quality of ATCO engineering and are highly sought after by motoring enthusiasts.
