1969 Morris Minor Pick-Up – "Morris Motors Fire Brigade" Re-creation

Have you ever seen one of these? Back in the day, Morris Motors built a one-off in-factory fire tender at Cowley to nip between the production lines in case of small emergencies. This charming 1969 Morris Minor Pick-Up has been lovingly built as a faithful tribute to that rare piece of British motoring history, modelled after the famous Corgi / Dinky classic diecast model.

If you take this to any classic vehicle show, you might find a whole row of standard Morris Minors, but nobody else will have one of these. It is a guaranteed head-turner, perfect for promotional events, museum display, or just driving along pretending you're Fireman Sam!

Bodywork & Paint: The paintwork is presentable and solid. There are a few age-related minor imperfections, but no nasty large rust bubbles or rotten areas.

Underside & Chassis: Solid as a rock underneath. As expected on a 55-year-old commercial vehicle, it has had past welding repairs over its lifetime, but everything remains structurally sound.

Cabin & Trim: Inside, the cabin is tidy and original. The seats are in great order with no tears, the carpets are good, and the dashboard retains all standard controls alongside retro auxiliary switches for the fire equipment. It even retains that lovely 55-year-old classic car smell!

Mechanicals & Equipment
Engine & Drivetrain: Starts, runs, and drives as a good Morris Minor should.

Workshop Recommissioning: Recently fitted with a new battery, new vacuum advance unit, and given a fresh engine oil & filter service. As always at Hardy Classics, the brakes have been gone through in our workshop to ensure she stops safely before heading to her new owner.

Working Accessories: All the special bits work! The mounted brass fire bell, emergency spotlight, and roof beacon are wired up and functioning.

Included Automobilia & Fire Gear: The back of the pick-up comes packed with an incredible array of period fire-fighting equipment, including wooden roof ladders, vintage fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, hydrants, and hoses. We also have period fireman helmets, axes, and uniforms available to complete the look!

History & Paperwork File
V5C Registration: Fully UK registered on a correct V5C logbook with no import taxes or issues to worry about.

Provenance: Spent 10 years stored in a motor museum in the Netherlands prior to returning to the UK, where it was recommissioned and previously MOT’d.

History File: Accompanied by historical invoices for recent parts, past MOT certificates, newspaper clippings (including a feature in the Daily Express), and documentation detailing its museum provenance.
